Greetings from the Town Chairman 2007 is almost over. There are a few new things happening in the Town of Apple River. One was, we participated with the county to receive a grant to help pay for developing a comprehensive growth plan. We have hired Cedar Corp from Menomonie to work with the Planning Committee beginning in January 2008. The Fire Department has purchased extrication equipment (Jaws of Life) this year. The volunteer firefighters are being trained on the use of the new equipment. We blacktopped almost one mile of gravel roads this year as part of our long-range plan for road improvement and maintenance. The budget for 2008 is finished and it is up slightly from 2007. For 2007, the board stayed right on budget. We are happy to announce that we now have a website. It is http://www.townofappleriver.com. On our website, you will find meeting notices, agendas, minutes of all meetings, links to other government websites, forms, and the tax roll for the town. Check it out. We all know the holiday season is almost over when the bill comes. Remember, the town can only control the town portion of your taxes. Hope you have a safe holiday season and a happy new year.
