October 25, 2007 Award Asphalt Bids

   Special Meeting Minutes
   Town of Apple River
   10-25-07

Members: Chairman: Dan Carlson, Supervisors: Dave Waterman & Ansel
Johnson
                  Treasurer: Linda Peterson, Clerk: Ken Sample

Meeting called to order at 7:00PM. Roll call indicated Supervisor
Waterman attending another meeting.  Posting verified and notice that
town reserves the right to accept and/or reject bids based on best
interest of the town.

Monarch Paving was only vendor submitting a bid.  Bid submitted by
Monarch was:
1.	“98th Street going north from Cty “H” to 140ty Ave. and 140th Ave
from Cty “H”   
       going east to dead end.  20 feet wide and 2 1/2 “ of compacted
Hot Mix Asphalt.
2.	2’ foot shoulders using twsp’s gravel loaded, hauled and placed.

Question asked of Monarch; Does the contract price include the turn
around?  Representative from Monarch indicated the turn around was
included.

The contract included the following stipulation; “ Due to Weather
Conditions and Workload, We cannot guarantee 2007 completion.  If
signed & returned within days specified, price will be honored in
2008.”

Motion made and approved 2-0 to award contract to Monarch Paving
Company.

Meeting adjourned at 7:15PM
